Director of Electrical Engineering
Battery Management Systems
Murray Ruben joins LaunchPoint Technologies as part of the company’s battery management system initiative. As Director of Electrical Engineering, Mr. Ruben is responsible for reliable circuit designs that are robust to the harsh physical and electrical environments of vehicle systems. He brings decades of experience as a digital design engineer with comprehensive skills in embedded systems hardware and software design. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ruben has provided key architecture and implemented critical design components for a wide range of products and systems including: uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, smart battery management products, microprocessor-controlled scientific instruments, and industrial control systems, to name a few. His high-level design capabilities have led to innovative products that were the pillars of two companies he helped to establish. He has most recently provided expert level design support for developing a smart lithium-ion battery system for electronic warfare applications, as well as the development of innovative electronics that will enable the use of lithium-ion batteries in military avionics applications in lieu of lead-acid battery systems. In these roles he has been responsible for requirements analysis, system architecture, design partitioning, printed circuit board layout, all of the hardware and software design, and overall technical leadership. Mr. Ruben has an MSEE and a professional EE degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BSEE from the City College of New York. He has six patents with new patent positions currently being evaluated.
