Maksim Subbotin
Systems Engineer
Maksim Subbotin, Ph.D., joined LaunchPoint as Systems Engineer in June 2008. Maksim is currently working on the modeling, analysis, and control for the Power Ring project at LaunchPoint in collaboration with Geoff Long and Mike Ricci.
Maksim received a Master's degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Ivanovo State Power Engineering University, Russia in 2002, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008. His doctoral research focused on the development of reliable methods for optimal synthesis of decentralized distributed estimators for formations of dynamic agents communicating through uncertain topologies.
Prior to joining LaunchPoint, Maksim worked on modeling and control of Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition combustion at the Robert Bosch Research and Technology Center in Palo Alto, California. Maksim’s research interests include: modeling and identification of dynamic systems, estimation, adaptive control, and optimal control. His publications appear in IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and in Automatica.
