Ken Ricci

    Senior Physicist

Kenneth Ricci, Ph.D., received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Physics in 2000 and 1996 from Stanford University for his work in femtosecond electronic and optical diagnostics for relativistic electron beams in a far-infrared free electron laser (FEL). He is currently involved at LaunchPoint in the Launch Ring and Power Ring projects.

Before joining LaunchPoint, Ken worked as a consultant for DBI Operating Company in San Leandro, CA. There he performed mechanical, thermal, and radiation design and analysis of fuel loading, neutron transport, fission criticality, reactor control, gamma-ray shielding, and heat transfer from a proposed 100-Megawatt thorium-powered nuclear reactor.

His previous positions have included Senior Physicist at Los Gatos Research Inc., Senior Research Scientist at Bay Area Environmental Research Institute, and Research Scientist at Picarro Incorporated

Mr. Ricci received a dual-BS in Physics and Literature from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he researched the phase characteristics of a 33 GHz Raman Regime Free Electron Laser.

Ken has numerous publications and conference presentations to his name, in the fields of geophysics, chemistry, nuclear science, and remote sensing.
