Dave Paden is the Vice President of Mechanical Engineering and Co-Founder of LaunchPoint Technologies. Dave has been involved in the mechanical design and fabrication of maglev left-ventricular-assist devices (LVAD) since 1995. He served as the lead mechanical engineer and fabricator on the Streamliner LVAD project that reached animal trials in 1998 and as lead mechanical designer for the Levacor LVAD. Dave is currently the lead mechanical designer and project manager for the NIH-funded PediaFlow LVAD program. He is also involved in several other projects at LaunchPoint, including a venture-funded maglev energy-storage flywheel project; a long-term energy-storage project; and a Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) blood pressure sensor project. Dave received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1992.
