Alvin R. Paden
Principal Engineer and Founder
Alvin (Al) R. Paden is the Principal Engineer and Founder of LaunchPoint Technologies Inc. (LaunchPoint). Al received his Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree from Oregon State University in 1957 and has worked on major defense contracts with Raytheon Company, Electromagnetic Systems Division, until co-founding LaunchPoint in 1992. He has over 30 years of experience in electrical design, system integration, and project management. Project management positions include the Navy's SLQ-32 shipboard electronic countermeasures system development, and the Air Force ALQ-184 airborne countermeasures system. Alvin has served as a project manager for a number of LaunchPoint projects including the StreamLiner maglev artificial heart. Al is currently the Chief Engineer of Magnetic Moments products including Magnetic Bearing Controller (MBC), Eddy-Current Sensor (ECS), and Bouncing Ball Experiment (BBE).
